A Passion Project Elevated
Growing up, I was captivated by Gundam, especially the iconic 80s and 90s era of anime. It was more than just a show; it was a universe of storytelling and artistry that left a lasting impression on me. I wanted to create a video that captured everything I loved about that time while adding my spin.
This project took two years, countless late nights, and more compromises than I can count. While freelancing across studios in Los Angeles, this thing's story, style, and scope shifted more times than I'd like to admit. It was a grind, but one that I wouldn't trade for anything. And now, I finally get to share it with the world.
Managing a team of up to 10 artists spread across time zones and even countries was no small feat. Everyone worked in their off-hours, driven not by deadlines or paychecks but sheer passion for what we were creating. The entire short was rendered on my desktop. It wasn't easy; nothing worth doing ever is, but I'm proud of what we pulled off.
